I bought a Super Barker Breaker hoping that it would stop the neighbor's dog from nuisance barking. The device is battery operated and makes a sound similar to a loud smoke alarm. (There are other devices which are supposed to emit sounds that humans can't hear, but which dogs hate, which I prefer.) Unfortunately, the instruction manual says it is ONLY effective for 25 feet. Since this device is probably composed of a sound generator, speaker, microphone, amplifier and power source, it would SEEM like all parts, except sound generator, could be replaced with more powerful parts, obtainable at electronic equipment stores like Radio Shack. I would greatly appreciate any feedback on my idea...and will even PAY someone who can modify the device so the sound will travel over 75 feet into neighbor's yard where the damned dog is.

I know this is a much more passive approach, but once I had some neighbor's about 1/2 mile away with a kennel full of hybrids, left locked up and barking, all day and every single night. I couldn't get ahold of them, it seemed like they were never home. I bought one of those air filters that acts like a white noise, masking the barks. A fan would also help dull the outside noises so you can get some sleep. Terri
