Hello friends where ever you are I have a question, I am about buy a new car but the choice is very difficult. I have decided to let go my old Opel Vectra 2,2 DTI year 2000 model, and now I have in my sight two very nice cars and I have not been able to make up my mind yet, both are brilliant and from the year 2002, - Volvo S60 D5 automatic transmission, leather interior, automatic airconditioning + lots other neat features - Mercedes Benz 200 CDI, manual transmission, auto airconditioning, otherwise std car I have not been able to find anywhere any good comparison info from the net, all opinions are more or less ..my toyota is better than your MB... Does anyone of you have any experience D5 motors in Volvos, other personal experience in MB 200CDI's (new model) I thank you in advance for all your kind replies in NG thanks JANNE

Which one do you mean - E 200 CDI or C 200 CDI? It does matter. According to the German ADAC, the new Volvo cars are among the less reliable cars in their classes (worst then Vectra and Omega). Mercedes is in the middle of the table. My humble experience with the both cars speaks definitely in favour of Mercedes. Hint: 220 CDI isn't a lot more expensive but it is better powered than 200 CDI. Dimitar
