Hi, my name is Jim, I represent, P.E.T.A.,(People for the Eating and tasting of Animals), Anyways, Could someone tell me who has the best prices on insulated coveralls? I've checked with Cabelas and Bass Pro, I will be hunting in central Texas, If anyone has some used ones I'd be happy to buy them. I need Large or Xtra large and I can spend somewhere between $100 to $200 dollars. I don't need the best but I really don't want to suffer in the deer blind either. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.    Jim in San Antonio......................

For what it's worth, a pair of Carhart coveralls has served me quite well in almost 40 years of deer hunting and they darned sure don't cost 200 bucks.  I just _layer_ underneath them according to the weather (and folks, no pun is needed in response here.  LOL) Head for your local Farm and Home store and pick up a pair of Carharts.  Make SURE you buy the ones with the leg zippers that come all the way up the leg and don't stop at the knee.  (this serves two purposes....darned sure makes putting them on/off over boots a lot easier, and serves as a wonderful vent system on those days it starts cold and warms up).  Also, but a pair big enough taht you can wear your insulated undies, jeans, sweatshirt, etc....whatever your cold weather demands are...underneath them. Just my take.... Stonie

although it has been a few years since i was in the area, the best bargain in central texas used to be Wahls factory outlet stores......i think there is one in Hillsboro, right on I-35 which isn't too far north of you, and there may be one even closer, like maybe Temple or Austin

They're a lot easier to get on and you don't have to completely strip when nature calls. Also, when it warms up, you can remove a jacket and cool off a lot easier. Bibs are much more versatile. In TX, you sure don't need an Alaska version. Any sports store will have some camos for under $75. You can get get by just fine with Carhardt or Key duck brown, too. Dick F.
