wrote in message | What is the best computer mouse? | I prefer Logitech - reliable, smooth, custom programmable buttons. I have both wireless and corded - actually a couple of each.

If your going optical I would recommend Microsoft optical mouse. Performance wise I have had no problems with them. Seen problems with other optical mice as far as pointer jumps and glitches. Tyu <

What is the best computer mouse? It really depends on the size of your hand as well as your wallet. The Logitech MX 510 is good value for money, and IMO is wireless way overrated. You still have a _base_station somewhere with a wire in it, and you have to worry about batteries or you have to pay ekstra for rechargeble batteries and a _base_station with a charger in it. But what do you need it for? maybe you have to look at trackballs instead, it all depends.

I work in CAD and layout programs that require quite accurate and intense mousework. I feel the mouse cord drag and it affects my control, and also causes my wrist to get tired sooner. And on my laptop, who wants cords <g

And on my laptop, who wants cords <g Well, for the 'tail drag' I think it's more important to have a mouse that's accurate enough to set the speed high enough so you don't have to move your hand very much, - no tail drag, and when I have to do Photoshop and things have to be accurate I go for my digitizer. I just got myself an MX 510 for my laptop, because I have a faily large hand and I cannot have those s***ty little cordless things that are made for laptops and I will not have a large _base_station made for a desktop in my bag
