powerpoint manual

Two weeks ago I threw the manual out because I have never used the program, now I have to do a presentation... Cannot find the site in microsoft-maze...any one know where?? Is there a powerpoint for dummies book that is any good? Finally, the presentation will need to be done on a tri- pod with flip charts - is this a good program to develop this kind of presentation with? I understand it will lack dimension... Thanks b

Have you tried looking at www.mspress.com for documentation/books ? This maybe a silly question, but why are you thinking of using PowerPoint if the presentation will need to be done on a tripod? - Hide quoted text -- Show quoted text -

Yes, there's a PPT for Dummies, and it's not bad for getting started with PPT. Even better might be Brian Reilly's Create PPT Presentations in a Weekend. Amazon usually has that. I have to echo the question asked by someone else, though. If this presentation will be on a flipchart, why are you considering PPT?

Finally, the presentation will need to be done on a tri- pod with flip charts - is this a good program to develop this kind of presentation with? I understand it will lack dimension... PowerPoint has some limits on how large a page it'll output, but you *should* be ok. But don't assume. If you own the printer that'll turn out the flip charts, fire up PPT, make a simple slide or two and try printing. If you'll have somebody else print the charts, give them a call BEFORE you start and find out how they want everything set up.

I have to echo the question asked by someone else, though. If this presentation will be on a flipchart, why are you considering PPT? Because it makes more finished looking graphics than a 64-pack of Crayolas? (as long as you don't apply animation to the text, anyhow)
