I live in Melbourne and am looking for a cheap copy of Microsoft office (including Word, Excel, Access) that can run on Windows '98. Office '97 would be fine. What you need to get is MS Office Professional as it has MS Access in it. The cheapest way of getting any version of MS Office is to get somebody who is a student and get them to use their student card to get a copy of MS Office Professional Academic. But chances are that you are not really likely to obtain a new copy of Office 97 so you will have to look around for a second hand version.

None of the shops I know ask for a students card! By rights , when you ask for a academic version of Office they should ask for your student ID # , maybe the shops are �getting a bit slack these days and just want to make a sale.

And its distinctly arguable if that academic restriction is legally enforceable if the merchants dont bother to check anyway.
