Galen Hekhuis <ghekh...@earth_link_.net wrote in message Remember, the McCain/Palin campaign has said that if they cannot change the subject from the economy, they lose. They may be right. Unfortunately, Obama's economic philosophy may be fine for the short term, but it's certainly a disaster for the long term. I doubt that McCain can win without exposing Obama for what he is ... a radical leftist who is dangerous to the security of our great nation. I've been called worse than that, and I'm an honorably discharged veteran. John McCain is proven scum who, despite his fine words, votes against a ban on torture. You've probably heard of McCain-Feingold or McCain's stance on immigration, but you've never heard of the McCain Veteran's Act or anything like that, because there's never been one. Yet somehow McCain touts himself as a friend of the vet. Granted, he's voted for the vet a few times, but probably just so people like me can't claim he's never done anything. I'm doing OK myself, but there are oodles of vets out there that are really hurting. It's a talking point for McCain, but what has he ever done? There are a lot of other POWs that didn't get to marry rich women and build political careers that John S. McCain seems to have forgotten about. Then there are the agents of intolerance that McCain now sucks up to. Yeah, I'd rather a radical leftist than someone seemingly hell bent to divide this country. I don't think much of McCain, but I do believe he would do a lot less long term harm than the radical leftist Obama. I lost all, and I mean all, respect I had for one John S. McCain when he caved in and supported torture. How can you say this: And the reason that we give a shit for the opinion of a leftist sellout is?????????? The enemy we fight has no respect for human life or human rights. They don't deserve our sympathy, he said. But this isn't about who they are. This is about who we are. These are the values that distinguish us from our enemies. And then turn around and vote in favor of its use? Has the man's quest for the presidency overridden his sense of humanity? I was on active duty while John McCain was a POW. As disgusting as I thought some of our nation's actions were (remember, there was a draft back then, not all of us who served were gung-ho ) there was never any excuse for the treatment of POWs, even if the enemy thought they were war criminals. Torture always sucks. Obama some kind of radical leftist ? I'll bet you think John Bolton is a moderate. I think that your denial says a great deal about you, leftist trash. Divide this country? Let's get those nasty businesses and wealthy people who make more than 250k, or 200k, or 150k, or 120k. They're just selfish ... and if they don't like paying higher taxes, they're unpatriotic. Yeah. Even if by some miracle John McCain gets elected, he will face one of the most divided electorates this nation has ever seen. Nothing, nothing at all will be done with a Republican in the White House and a Democratic Congress. It just stands to reason that the rich ought to help out the less fortunate if only for their own good. Who else will they exploit? Yep. Definintely leftist trash. ...I'm junk but I'm still holding up this little wild bouquet: Democracy is coming to the U.S.A. -Leonard Cohen
