sharp laptop manual PCMCIA setup of Sharp PC-9300D laptop
|
|
I have a Sharp laptop, model PC-9300D, but have not been able to utilize the PCMCIA slots. Therefore, I can't use my modem either. During installation there is no selection for any Sharp models for the PCMCIA support. I tried two of the generic ones at the bottom of the list, but when CONFIG.SYS was run, an error message appeared that the device driver was no loaded. (The PCMCIA sockets are recognized under Win95). All I hae been able to get from Sharp so far, from a support person who dug out a hardware manual, is that the PCMCIA chip is a: Model PD6729VC-B208PIN (no manufacturer identified) Does anyone know if this is the same chip used in any of the other manufacturers models for which a driver is available? When you total up the number of models shown for all manufacturers, it is quite large, and I think my laptop would be obsolete before I could try them all. ( Thanks, Joe Hunter (preferred E-mail address is:
