I found a DELONGHI ESPRESSO MACHINE, BAR 290 which looks quite interesting. I haven't been able to find the manual online yet. I've been to the Delonghi site, which is not working too well. Does anyone know where I could find this? And just for future reference, is there a good site for appliance manuals? I did find a site with general instructions for a 2 button espresso maker. This has 3 buttons. I've never used one of these before so really need some instructions. Chances are it's a standard single-boiler machine with a button for make espresso , a button for send hot water through the steam wand for non-coffee beverages and a button for make steam so I can froth my milk Before you try to use it you should clean it thoroughly: dissolve a teaspoon of citric acid in a quart of water, run it through the machine in stages to descale it. The group screen should be removeable with a screwdriver of some sort and you'll want to remove the valve as well. Soak in degreaser, and use a toothbrush to clean hte grouphead thoroughly with same. Rinse the grouphead thoroughly, run the portofilter, the basket, the screen through the dishwasher, but not the screw or the valve. Put it all back together, plug it in, turn it on, let it heat up for half an hour, and see what happens.
